Biography

Moses M. Solomon short curriculum​

Moses M. Solomon was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He grew up in Akwa Ibom State and attended Efficient Secondary Commercial School, Uyo between 1993 and 1999. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree in Applied Chemistry (Second Class Upper division) from the University of Calabar, Nigeria in 2006. He was admitted into the Master of Science (M. Sc.) programme of the Department of Chemistry, the University of Uyo in 2008 and was under the supervision of Prof. Anthony P. Udoh. In 2010, he was awarded the M. Sc. degree in Applied Chemistry. Moses M. Solomon enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) programme of the same department in 2011 and was supervised by Prof. Saviour A. Umoren. He became the pioneer Ph. D graduate of the Department of Chemistry, the University of Uyo after he was awarded the prestigious Ph. D degree in Polymer Chemistry on February 22, 2016. Dr. Solomon was a TUBITAK 2216 postdoctoral research fellow at the Corrosion Research Laboratory, Duzce University, Turkey between May 2016 and May 2017. As a research fellow, he joined the Center of Research Excellence in Corrosion, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dharan, Saudi Arabia from 2018-2020. He is at present a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Covenant University, Nigeria. His research interest focuses primarily on the development of green corrosion inhibitors for diverse kinds of corrosive environments using polymeric materials. Other areas of research interest include polymer and nanocomposite synthesis, biodegradable implants, MOFs synthesis, and materials characterization. ​

Dr. Solomon has published 85 journal articles, 10 book/book chapters, and 10 conference papers. He has 4 patents (3 US and 1 Turkish) to his credit. He is the co-author of the most-rated review article on corrosion inhibition published in Progress in Material Sciences with an Impact Factor of 31.560 and a 5-Year Impact Factor of 37.352 and the author of the book “Polymeric Materials in Corrosion Inhibition: Fundamental and Application” published by Elsevier. His SCOPUS h-index is 33 and his Field-Weighted Citation Impact of 2.47. In Google Scholar, he has an h-index of 35. He is married and blessed with two lovely children.
